Immigration lawyers may specialize in different areas!

Immigration lawyers need to be familiar with a range of laws including the Australian Migration Act (almost 800 pages), Migration Regulations (around 1,900 pages). This is in addition to the plethora of policy guidelines, Ministerial Directions, Court judgments of the Migration Review Tribunal, Refugee Review Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and High Court Decisions.

There are Agents (non-lawyers) & Migration Lawyers. Many illegal agents operate in and outside Australia. Unprofessional or unethical behaviour by alleged agents can seriously impact on the lives of people using their services and bring the profession into disrepute.

Privacy Act 1988 contains Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Although we are not bound by them, we however as a matter of internal policy and in complying with our obligations under various laws and standards adhere to the underlying values contained in the APPs. The personal information you provide to us is collected, used and disclosed to other entities in the continuance of your matter where you have a reasonable expectation that your personal information will be used and disclosed by us.
